So this week was spiritually filled! also it has gone by so fast. If I can say one thing to all of you is that dont be afraid of this gospel. share it. because when that day comes where were in front of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ they will ask us what we have on the earth. And I hope we can all say that we have done our best to do our best. Keep going strong keep smiling! love you all!

so i havent taken any cool pictures lately but heres me with my granadilla(: We have a baptism on the 10th of october and im so excited! shes 19 and so awesome. All I really want to say this week is that don't let anything or anyone keep you for the gospel of jesus christ. things will happen but keep in mind the reason why you go and do the things you do. nothing on this earth is superior to the blessings of God. what a beautiful life we live. i love this gospel more than anything else.

Never a dull week in the mission

Hey all!
Let me just start off by saying i love you all so much and miss you terrible! But also I am having so much fun here in Peru. Let me just give you a quick update on what happened this week: so my companion went to lima for a couple days leaving me. Therefore i had to stay the week with the hermanas of Alameda an area thats about 45 minutes from my area. And it was awesome being able to learn from them as well! hmm so updates...
Monday: we went to 5 lagunas with 3 zones and it was super fun!
Tuesday: i ate antícucho aka cow heart
Wednesday: lots and lots of wind! im pretty sure i almost fell over
Thursday: our room flooded...but nothing too bad! fast clean up,
Friday: we finally got back to our area! wooo
Saturday: We had noche misional where the whole ward got together and we had an activity it was karoke (i think thats how you spell it)
Sunday: we had more than 100 people come to church it was so amazing! I was in shock. even a family of investigators came!
All i can say for this week is that the family is so important. We are teaching a family of less actives and a family of investigators and a few others. But the family is truly so important. God sent us to this earth so we could recieve a body but also so we could have happiness and i know the only true happiness we can have is with our families. if you think about it everything else fades and in the end family is who stays not only in this life but in the life to come as well. I know and can testify that this gospel is true and perfect. Even if as humans we are unperfect the gospel helps us get to the point to where we can push ourselves to be so much better. as i said before i love you guys and pray for you.
keep smiling!!

Oh and heres a picture of when the ladies who live downstairs forgot that we lived there and blocked the door. but dont worry we found a way in! haha they may be forgetful but the are so sweet!

Hello All!
Okay so this week we were working super hard on trying to find new people to teach. And we kind of got discouraged after awhile because the area that were at (Ambo) is a lot of hills. Like all actually. For example, yesterday we we looking for a contact we made on the street and when we finally found someone who knew him and they said "see that house at the very top? yes. past that one." so we hiked all the way up there just to find out that he wasnt home. But the next day was sunday so it would be better. And guess what? it totally was! We have an investigator named Alexander and he told us that he had th desire to get baptized during the first lesson! hes golden! and that just reminded my companion and i how the Lord truly prepares people for us. And how the power of prayer is so so real. Also fun fact today is that for every pday we go to huanuco which is 20 mins from ambo. So we got a car and were on our way when 5 minutes later the person says welp im stopping here you can walk from here. we were like uhhh okay then. so we got out and walked the rest of the way to huanuco. im pretty positive that by the time i finish with this area ill have legs of steel. yeaaaahhh! okay and funny quote of the week is my pentions 3 yr old son: -sees a picture of shrek- "mom look! when the hulk gets married!" i  pretty much died of laughter. and thats all for this week!
keep smiling!

Huanùco, Ambo!

Hi Everyone!
Alright so heres some news. Remember when i told you guys that my companion and i had white washed Satipo for hermanas for the first time in 10 years? Welllll because they´re are so many people (especially hermanas) leaving this month and in the next couple of months (more than thirty i believe in one group) president had to close the area for hermanas once again! It was actually super sad because i knew that my companion was having transfers because she was going home in july but i did not expect a transfer myself! Im not going to lie i teared up a bit before i left because i had just grown so close to the people and i thought i would have a bit more time with them. but the Lord knows why we are but with certain people and in certain areas. for example i have a new companion and her name is hermana peters! shes so sweet and she has fifteen months and leaves in july just like my other companion! but instead of being from california shes from oregon! and im slowly starting to learn the names of investigators and less actives and such so thats good! here in ambo its a lot different then the selva because well mainly because its not selva. theres a lot of polvo (dust)! and its a bit cloder as well. side note: this is the first time ive worn a long sleeved shirt in 4 months! and well im excited to work with new people and with a new ward. i got to meet some members on sunday and it was cool! i believe we had about 60 or so attending so about have the size of my old ward but still they are all so faithful and humble! oh and also ive noticed that ambo is a little more well off than satipo. they actually have tv´s in their houses! and a fridge! my new pentionista has a microwave and i was in shock! i hadnt seen a microwave since i left the states! but still i just thought that was funny! oh and by the way we have a multi zone conference this week on friday and im way excited because thats when president comes and talks to us and helps us out anyway he can! and we have a multi zone pday on thursday and i get to meet new people wooo! being in the sleva for 4 months means that no one knows who you are because youre kind of isolated from everyone hahah. okay well i think thats all the news for this week! and just a little thing ive been thinking of this week and its faith. I know that faith is the starting point to everything its not only having faith but acting on it. showing your faith is an act of obedience. If you really think about it Our Heavenly Father isnt asking much of us when he asks us to read our scriptures pray and go to church. all it really is a sacrfice of our time and efforts. Ask yourself if you are doing everything in your efforts to be the best person you can be. if you are trying to increase your faith everyday. this church is a church of progress. if you arent progressing take a step back and evaluate what you can do better and then after you have done what you can do pray to our heavenly father for guidance. i love you all so much and i know my emails are always kind of all over the place but hopefully you can get something out of it! have an amazing week everyone!
keep smiling!(:

All laughs

Hi everyone!
Okay so this past week has been kind of all over the place! Last week we had our sister Pday on Monday and it was so fun! We made shirts that had all our names on it with the area we were serving in. Then on Tuesday my comanion Hermana Pulice and I went to go to look for some less actives. All I can really say is that there was a lot of walking. And that don´t let anyone fall away! If you see someone new at church whether its a new investigator or less active go and be their friend! A lot of the work here is with less actives because they simple just fall away and no one notices. We can always do a little bit better everyday! On Wednesday we had our district meeting and we were talking about our investigators and how they were doing and i found my quote of the week!: Elder Holmes -  Teodora. (name of the investigator)
Elder Sabando- Teodoro?
Elder Holmes: No, Teodora!
Elder Torres: Quien te adora? (who adores you?). It may be funnier in spanish but i still thought it was funny! Then fast forward to Saturday we went to a members house to get to know them a little better since they just moved back from Lima and we talking and it was all good and then she offered us some bananas and were like sure why not! Then we were about to finish our appointment when shes like "awe you have to go right now?" And we really did since we need to get to the church for the elders baptism which was a good 15 to 20 minutes away. So we said yes and she was okay let me just get some fruits for you guys to take and my companion and i thought yeah sure why not? I can take an orange and just put it in my bag. No. She brought out a bunch of bananas, a bag of oranges, and a couple of anonas( its a werid spikey fruit thing) that she had taking down from her tree outside her house and a few other things. And all i could do was laugh because it was just so kind of her to do we just had no where to put it. But we did eventually make it back to the church just in time for the baptism! Then on Sunday we had church like normal and all of our investigators with a baptism date showed up! Last week none of them showed up so we were all excited that they had taken the decision to close their restaurant and come to church. I love them so much! Then later that night we went to visit our recent convert Willian and it was so great because we can see how much he is progressing! Just a little background Willian got married and baptized last month and has been coming to church ever since! we started talking about the plan of salvation and things like that until we veered off talking about missionary life and how we have cambios(transfers) next week. And i think it just hit me right there about how much ive grown to love the people of Satipo. Everyone im teaching the members the enviroment just everything. I can honestly say that these past four months have been unforgettable! Also i think i spelled a lot of words wrong because english is getting harder and harder to speak and spell! My companion and i speak spanglish. Like no joke. And talking about my companion since today is pday we decided to do some P90X to start the day off and all i can say is that one hour of pilyometrics is SO HARD! I just hope that the waterfall we go to today doesnt have a lot of hiking because i might just die. Okay maybe im being a little dramatic but still! Okay so thats all for this week! love you all!
Keep smiling(:
